You have to manually update the app by pulling down on the home screen, even after force closing the app.

Like many other reviewers, content needs to be updated manually and white-screen freeze-ups. This has gone on for several months despite updates.

Agree with other negative reviews. Politico is great site, I read it daily. But the app update is a major step backwards. I rate old version a 5, but the new version is a 1. Save yourself - dont update. Format is less clean, platform less stable, features less friendly.

Want to grow to be a leading political news source? Update your app. Make an investment. This is terrible. I dont usually rate apps but my hands were tied. Im disappointed.

This is he only major(kind of) news app that doesnt update upon opening it up. Repeated pulling down for it to update is unacceptable. You lose me when I see old news on the main feed.

This was my go to news app every morning until this update. It refuses to download the news when I open it and its generally unstable. Please fix this Politico, I miss you!

The only reason I still use this app is because I like the articles. The app itself is very frustrating and needs to be restarted pretty much every time I use it.

Feb 26th is the most recent article the app has on the White House? When I refresh, the app says last updated 1 hour ago. With all the problems I have encountered with the app and its habit of not updating, I think it is time to delete the app.

Prior to this update, I could always rely on this app to load and open quickly. Didnt matter were I was; tunnel, subway, submarine!!! Now, it takes forever! It also doesnt seem to update with new stories in a timely manner, nor is it automatic. It seems to sit in a constant buffering state much longer than it used to. Freezes a good deal of the time. Lastly, unless Im missing something, you can no longer adjust the size of the text, this makes for horrible reading on a phone, even the iPhone 6plus!

it is unbearable, it loads for a long time, but not new content, the state when it was last open. one has to force it to reload to get updated news, excruciating!

This new version is total crap. Why am I forced to see an election graph on the top every time I load the page? The stories are tiny and difficult to select. Further its glitchy and doesnt update often times. Please fire your app developers and give us something useful!

Politico has always been my go-to for current political news, written by a talented team of journalists. So it bothers me greatly that I have to give the app one star. Readers have been complaining for weeks about the app not refreshing articles and other user interface issues. I find it hard to believe that Politico would not work hard and quickly to fix the problem. They are squandering all the goodwill they have built up over the years with their readers. Im losing my patience, and there is a chance that I will begin to look for another source for this information... although Id prefer not having to do so. Please fix the App!

Really top notch content. Im very impressed with Politico articles. App still doesnt update consistently. I generally delete and re-download the app a couple of times each week. Its been since February and still no fix!

I dont know what happened to this app, but it has gone from a 5 star app to basically zero stars. Extremely slow to load, freezes up constantly, text piled on top of other text. App is unreadable and usable.

App doesnt load current news...Pro doesnt even launch. Needs work. A lot of it.

In a presidential election year why would the baby geniuss behind this completely dysfunctional app still have jobs?

I used to think highly of the app, but theyve gone to a much more image heavy format that is slow or locks up on all but the fastest networks. Even at home with big bandwidth (cable and 5ghz wifi), it locks up fairly frequently.

The news does not update: it stays the same as the day you originally downloaded the app. This has been going on now for months: has no one else noticed this?

Your new content doesnt load. If not on wifi nothing works at all. The content is great but if you cant get to it whats the point.

App is very slow to update content, frequently locks in this process. Has an auto-update setting, but content never auto updates.
